this was my speech about playing the drums.
PLAYING THE DRUMS
1.This is one of the beats from one of our drummers from Ngapuhi, his name is Shaun Colbert from the band 1814.
There are many drummers out there that you could be like.
2.Did you know that the drummer in the band keeps the crowd in time and the bass player keeps the band in time… weird ay?
3.When I play the drums I feel relaxed.
How do you feel when you play the drums? Have you ever played the drums? You haven’t? Well people I’m hear to tell you that drum are the best instrument to learn to play.
4.To play the drums, one of the easiest way to learn to play, is to have a try, like I did. Sometimes when you play you might feel nervous, scared, and embarrassed. But don’t think about those things.
5.Do you know the names of a basic drum kit?
The names of the drum symbol are: snare drum, bass drum, toms, cowbell, crash, and hi-hat.
6.These are some fact that I found about drums. Drums are one of the world’s oldest instruments. As it is classed as a membrane (vibrations caused by a stretched surface) it has carried the same traditional shape for thousands of years.
7.Drumming is known to be one of the best forms of exercise, in some cases more than cycling, hiking, or weight lifting! Recently drumming has been adapted into a workout called ‘Drums Alive.’
8.Back in the 80’s, electric drums became very popular. People thought that they were going to phase out traditional drums, however it turns out drummers prefer to play acoustic kits over electric in all decades.
9.The longest drum roll by an individual is 8 hours 1 min 17 seconds and was achieved by Christopher Anthony at a shopping centre in California, USA, in 2012.
10. So if you are considering about learning to play an instrument why not learn to play the drums, I did it and I love it.
My name is AJ and thanks
